NGA posts research acquisition suite RFI
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is seeking information on continued development of the Research Acquisition Suite Tool (Solicitation Number: HM047618R0045), the agency announced June 15. Responses to NGA’s request for information are due by 3:00 p.m. Eastern on June 27.
The NGA Research Acquisition Team started an initiative in January 2016 to overhaul old acquisition processes in Research, while being responsive to NGA Acquisition Strategic objectives. The initiative involved developing new business processes, CONOPs, an acquisition framework, and the Research Acquisition Suite (RAS) tool.

The initiative involved developing new business processes, CONOPs, an acquisition framework, and the Research Acquisition Suite (RAS) tool. The following RAS Development phases have been completed:
– Phase 1: Requirement – Developed an interface and database to accept Research acquisition requirements and approval workflows through the Director of Research. (COMPLETED)
– Phase 2: Adjudication – Developed flexible workflows that allow for different adjudication workflow processes based on acquisition vehicle type. (COMPLETED)
– Phase 3: Planning – Developed an interface and database to capture Pod (DivisionLevel) Research Program, Project, and Acquisition requirements for a 5 year planning cycle. Also provided approval workflows that captures final concept and funding approval levels. (COMPLETED)
– Phase 4: Execution (In Progress) – Develop an interface and database to capture post award data, to include deliverables, high level schedule, spend plan, risks, program management reviews, and impacts.
NGA is interested in gathering information for development of two additional RAS phases (Transition Phase and Data Visualization & Analytics Phase).
– Phase 5: Transition- Develop an interface and database to capture workflows for identifying and executing Project transition to transition partner(s). Automate the transfer of all project documentation and metadata to accepting transition partner(s).
– Phase 6: Data Visualization and Analytics – Develop dashboard and data visualization interface to capture metrics and reports that will support leadership investment and funding decisions.
