Mission Essential promotes Sunil Ramchand to CEO

Mission Essential 112Mission Essential, a Columbus, OH-based global provider of services and solutions to the U.S. Defense and Intelligence Communities, announced on May 6 the promotion of Sunil Ramchand to Chief Executive Officer. Ramchand will report directly to Board Co-Chairmen Gregory Miller and Chad Monnin, who together founded the company.

“Sunil has been instrumental in executing our global leading language services business, as well as repositioning Mission Essential as a trusted analytic partner to the Intelligence Community,” commented Monnin. “He is mission-focused and passionate about Mission Essential’s future, and we share his vision and strategy for the business.”

Ramchand joined Mission Essential in 2009, first as Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff, and then Chief Administrative Officer. Since 2012, he has served as Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer. Prior to joining Mission Essential, Ramchand held numerous military and civilian leadership positions at the White House during the Administrations of Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama. He holds degrees from the U.S. Naval Academy andHarvard University. Ramchand served as an active duty surface warfare officer and later as a Defense Department civilian. A military veteran and seasoned Defense executive with both operational and acquisition experience, he brings unique national security expertise to the role.

Ramchand will replace Peter Horvath, who stepped down after three years as Chief Executive Officer. “We are grateful to Peter for his many contributions. He has been a transformative leader who leaves with an impressive list of achievements,” commented Miller.
