MacB promotes Duane Shugars to senior vice president and general manager
MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB), based in Dayton, OH, announced on April 23 that Duane Shugars has been promoted to senior vice president and general manager of MacB’s Enlighten IT Group (EITG), reporting to MacB President and CEO Sid Fuchs. In this new role, Shugars will lead a highly accomplished team that delivers rapid development and deployment of mission-critical cyber technology, data analytics, and secure cloud solutions for the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Intelligence Community (IC). Shugars previously served as vice president of operations for EITG.
Shugars has more than 25 years of experience serving in executive and business development roles at leading firms to help drive multiple missions for the defense and intelligence communities. He is a technology expert known for his work on distributed cloud and data fusion projects, and has been a featured speaker at several industry conferences and events. Shugars’ TechTalk event at TechNet Augusta last year highlighted the challenges facing the DoD and IC as they continue to encounter cyber threats across all tiers of existing infrastructure.
Shugars earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Baltimore, and is certified as a project management professional (PMP) and professional scrum master (PSM).
“I am honored to be a part of MacB’s senior leadership team and look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts across the organization,” said Shugars. “My tenure at EITG has been dedicated to transforming the way the DoD and IC defend our nation’s cyber infrastructure, and I’m looking forward to continuing our momentum to meet and exceed the strategic mission objectives of our customers in 2018 and beyond.”
“EITG’s multi-tiered secure cloud solutions and data analytics capabilities enable us to expand the ability to help solve some of our customers’ most daunting cyber and big data challenges,” said Fuchs. “Duane’s leadership, technical depth, and expertise makes him the perfect fit for this critical role. On behalf of the entire MacB team, I want to congratulate Duane on his well-deserved promotion.”
