John Adams named executive assistant director for the FBI’s Information and Technology Branch

On February 26, FBI Director Christopher Wray announced the appointment of John Adams as the executive assistant director for the FBI’s Information and Technology Branch. Adams most recently served as the assistant director of the Directorate of Intelligence.

Adams entered on duty as a special agent with the FBI in 1997 and was first assigned to the Washington Field Office, where he worked many violations, including espionage, drug trafficking, violent crime, and terrorism.

Throughout his career, Adams has held leadership positions in the Counterterrorism Division as well as the Knoxville, Richmond, and Norfolk Field Offices.

He reported for duty in his new role in February 2018.
