First Israel-US defensive cyberspace operations & intelligence conference to be held in Washington, DC

INSS 112The Israel Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) will hold its 5th annual Defensive Cyberspace Operations & Intelligence Conference and Exhibition in Washington, DC, April 27-28, 2015. This is the first INSS cyber conference to be held in the US.

This year’s event will address many of today’s primary challenges of cyber security and look to the future. Topics to be discussed include critical infrastructure and financial protection, new defense technologies, national policy and strategy, cyber defense, and policy, legality, legislation and regulation. Possible ways of confronting these challenges and opportunities for shaping policy within the dynamic existence of cyberspace will be examined.

The Defensive Cyberspace Conference is being held in partnership with the Cyber Security Forum Initiative (CSFI).

Speakers will include senior Israeli and American government officials and cyber experts as well as senior representatives from national infrastructure bodies, banks and major corporations.

Among the Israeli participants are, Major General (ret.) Amos Yadlin, Director of INSS and former Head of IDF Intelligence; Dr.Yuval Steinitz, Minister of Intelligence; Major General Uzi Moscovici, Head of the IDF J6/C4i Directorate; Brigadier General (ret.)Yair Cohen former Head of IDF Unit 8200; Rachel Yaacobi, Head of Risk Management Unit, Technology and Cyber, Bank ofIsrael, among others.

Among American officials are Michael Chertoff, former Secretary of Homeland Security, Gus Hunt, former Chief Technology Officer, CIA; Ann Barron-DiCamillo, Director of US CERT, DHS; Wolf Tombe, US Customs & Border Protection, DHS, Richard Clark, Senior Cybersecurity White House Advisor, and other senior officials from companies and organizations including, Edison Electric Institute (EEI), Northrop Grumman and Wells Fargo.

In addition, more than twenty-five of Israel’s most promising and innovative start-ups and more established Israeli companies will present cutting-edge solutions to the most critical issues in this field.

Day one of the conference will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.  Day two will take place at George Washington University.
