Engility wins $49 million contract to support advanced technical communications systems for U.S. Northern Command
Engility Holdings, Inc. of Chantilly, VA announced on November 3 that it has been awarded a $49 million contract to provide and support advanced technical communications systems for the U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), serving the Department of Defense, civil first responders, homeland defense operations and disaster relief activities. These systems enable secure and non-secure data, voice, and video services that scale from a single operator to Joint Task Forces with hundreds of supported users. The solutions are based on soldier-carried, vehicular and transit-case platforms.
Under USNORTHCOM’s Deployable Communications Capabilities System (DCCS) umbrella project, Engility will provide full system lifecycle support, including capability design, solutions development, engineering, systems modifications, technical refresh, training and repair. The win builds on years of successful delivery of products, full system architectures, methodologies, designs, engineering, and implementation of DCCS capabilities to USNORTHCOM.
“This win continues a valued relationship with USNORTHCOM and highlights our team’s ability to deliver highly technical solutions that put the needs of the customer and operators first,” said Engility President and CEO Tony Smeraglinolo. “We are excited to serve this Combatant Command level of effort.”
This 3-year award represents a follow-on win and is a firm-fixed-price and a cost plus hybrid contract. The sole source award was made after a Request for Information showed Engility possessed unique capabilities necessary for the contract.
