Defense Trade Solutions and Summit 7 announce strategic partnership

On August 7, Defense Trade Solutions (DTS) and Summit 7, a provider of cybersecurity and compliance solutions for the Defense Industrial Base (DIB), announced a strategic partnership to provide comprehensive support to defense contractors navigating both the technical and regulatory dimensions of doing business with the U.S. Department of Defense.
Under this new partnership, DTS will serve as a trusted trade compliance advisor available to Summit 7 clients, and Summit 7 will be DTS’s preferred partner for Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) readiness, cloud security, and NIST 800-171 compliance services.
By combining DTS’s subject-matter expertise in International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Technology Security & Foreign Disclosure (TSFD) with Summit 7’s leadership in cybersecurity architecture and Microsoft cloud transformation, the partnership will:
- Enable DIB suppliers to address both export and cybersecurity compliance mandates
- Reduce risk through integrated technology and trade compliance strategies
- Support companies in achieving CMMC certification and DFARS 7012/NIST 800-171 compliance
- Improve security posture across global programs involving controlled technical data
- Streamline readiness for audits and U.S. Government engagements
“Summit 7 is the gold standard when it comes to cybersecurity and CMMC readiness in the defense space,” said Steven Casazza, president of Defense Trade Solutions. “We are excited to partner with an organization that not only shares our national security mission but also complements our expertise with deep technical capability and scalable security solutions for defense contractors of all sizes.”
Kathy Gibbs, director of partners and alliances at Summit 7, said, “This partnership reflects our long-standing belief that cybersecurity doesn’t exist in a vacuum. By joining forces with DTS, we’re empowering contractors to align their cybersecurity and export compliance strategies from day one, reducing risk and accelerating mission readiness.”
