Culmen International names Richard Irwin president and COO
Culmen International, LLC, an international security firm headquartered in Alexandria, VA, announced on March 21 the appointment of Richard Irwin as the company’s new president and chief operating officer. Irwin brings 38 years of experience to Culmen, including 28 years in the government (including the White House, the Department of Homeland Security and intelligence community) and 10 years in the private sector.
In this newly established role, Irwin will provide strategic leadership and day-to-day operational direction to senior management and staff across the company in order to keep pace with the demands of ongoing growth.
“His background is closely aligned with our mission areas, and his track record of performance is outstanding,” said Dan Berkon, CEO of Culmen. “Richard, in his new role as president and COO, will allow us the opportunity to provide better support to our employees, further develop our capabilities, and place an increased focus on smart growth.”
Prior to this appointment, Irwin served 10 years in the private sector in senior executive management positions, most recently as president and CEO of Goldbelt, Incorporated, where he played a major role in growing the company.
