CounterTack appoints Matthew Addington as EVP of federal business

CounterTackCounterTack announced on August 16 the appointment of Matthew Addington to executive vice president of federal business. Addington will be responsible for overseeing Waltham, MA-based CounterTack’s global federal business and managing the strategic growth of the sector.

“Matthew has spent his entire career in national security spanning the areas of law enforcement, defense and intelligence,” said Neal Creighton, CEO, CounterTack. “Not only does he bring a considerable amount of industry knowledge, but he also offers tremendous leadership, business development and big data cybersecurity experience. As CounterTack continues to bolster its Federal presence, there is no one who better understands the government’s unique threat environment or the endpoint technology required to protect organizations.”

Addington comes to CounterTack with a wealth of federal experience, an extensive background in information sharing, and a deep understanding of the essential role of securing systems and data in the government sector. For more than 25 years, he served in a number of operational and leadership roles supporting global US Intelligence efforts and federal law enforcement. As part of his distinguished government career, he was a member of the Senior Executive Service, assigned as the director of the El Paso Intelligence Center where he provided executive leadership to approximately 500 personnel from 28 participating agencies. Most recently, Addington applied his federal experience to Giant Oak, Inc. where he served as the vice president and director of applied domains. In this role, he helped deploy frontline tools to securely search the deep and dark web to meet national security requirements. Before Giant Oak, he was the director of strategy and business development at Blackbird Technologies (acquired by Raytheon).

“I have experienced firsthand the importance of monitoring, deterring and countering threats in the federal environment,” said Addington. “Federal organizations are increasingly pressured to protect themselves from the growing threat landscape, and it’s a crucial time to communicate the advantages of CounterTack’s endpoint solutions. I am excited to build on the company’s recent momentum and strengthen its federal business.”
