CAES wins maritime EW contract

On December 22, CAES, a leading provider of mission critical electronic solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a contract valued at more than $24.6 million from Lockheed Martin to provide additional Antenna Array Panel Assemblies (AAPA) and Spares to the US Navy’s Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) Block 2, which continues to improve the AN/SLQ-32 passive electronic support capability.

“CAES is proud to continue our partnership with Lockheed Martin on the SEWIP Block 2 program which provides vital electronic warfare protection for our fleet,” said Mike Kahn, CAES president and CEO. “CAES’ reliable electronic warfare components are advancing technology to protect our war fighters on land, air and sea.”

The SEWIP program updates the Navy’s AN/SLQ-32 electronic warfare systems and adds new functionality to its combat system interfaces. SEWIP Block 2 is deployed on many Arleigh Burke class Guided Missile Destroyers. CAES has been a partner of choice with Lockheed Martin on all of the SEWIP Block 2 antenna array panel assemblies.
