Army posts IVAS RFI

On January 19, the U.S. Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) posted a request for information (RFI) for Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Software Development and Integration Project Manager Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS). Responses are due by 10:00 a.m. Eastern on February 18.

ACC-APG   is seeking information from industry professionals regarding Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Software Development and Integration.

Background

The Integrated Visual Augmentation System (IVAS) provides combat Situational Awareness (SA) capability so that Soldiers/Marines can Fight, Rehearse, and Train on the same system. IVAS includes the Heads-up Display (HUD) with on-body computer as the base system along with supportive Soldier power equipment, IVAS network components, Squad Performance Model, Adaptive Squad Architecture, and SiVT components.

HUD is a low-profile, see-through display system providing 24/7 advanced SA in all operating environments, fused day/night vision capabilities, day/night rapid target acquisition, and eye protection. IVAS provides movement of information, high level processing, and displays augmented reality information (Blue force tracking, Navigation, etc.) intuitively in three-dimensional space from mission planning data and real-time data including shared coordinate terrain data and machine learning/artificial intelligence processing enabled by tactical cloud package, shared information for mounted soldiers, “See Thru” armor, and advanced network services. IVAS uses data driven analytics to provide tactical leaders with metrics and indicators to optimize unit performance and enhance lethality. Integration through Government owned architecture enables rapid introduction of new and improved capabilities.

This RFI is seeking information from industry professionals to determine their capabilities to develop and integrate Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) software solutions into Government designated Army vision systems.
