Applied Insight acquires Bridges
On February 17, Tysons, VA-based Applied Insight, backed by The Acacia Group, announced its acquisition of Bridges Inc., Maryland-based specialists in cyber security, network engineering and big data analytics for the intelligence community. Bridges brings complementary capabilities to Applied Insight in network security, cross-domain solutions and analytics development using artificial intelligence. In addition, the acquisition enables the company to deliver end-to-end cloud infrastructure and data analytics in a way that is unique to the industry. It also expands Applied Insight’s portfolio of intellectual property, strengthening its position with strategically important intelligence customers.
“This is a true game changer because it means we can now deliver end-to-end hybrid and multicloud solutions, from infrastructure to actionable insight,” said Dede Dascalu, CEO of Applied Insight. “For example, Bridges’ cross-domain capabilities extend our ability to support the full range of low-to-high-side workflows. Their cyber and analytics expertise, combined with our cloud infrastructure and emulation products and managed services, will help customers more effectively process and integrate vast amounts of classified and open-source information. Importantly, we know the Bridges team well from years of partnering together. They share our commitment to the national security mission and have experience delivering successful innovations to intelligence customers. We’re honored to have the team on board.”
Bridges CEO Chuck Faughnan added, “We are excited to join the Applied Insight team to expand opportunities for our employees and bring the latest technologies to our customers. Together we can leverage our unique machine learning and artificial intelligence analytics and deep network engineering experience to deliver new cyber products and end-to-end security for our customers’ hybrid-cloud infrastructures.”
Bridges was founded in 2000 with the mission to protect sensitive information and shape big data into confident decisions. It has a team of more than 100 cleared professionals skilled in cross-domain network solutions, network security, custom application development and data analytics. Like Applied Insight, Bridges maintains a range of partnerships with key enterprise technology vendors and has an outstanding track record of developing analytics capabilities. Their security and analytics products and applications are deployed in highly sensitive customer environments and have broader applications beyond the intelligence community. For example, Bridges’ BEAM analytics framework provides a methodology for systematically integrating technical and process innovations to improve mission outcomes.
“Bridges’ cross-domain, cyber and big data capabilities enrich our ability to leverage the advantages of cloud technology with enhanced security, greater analytics firepower, improved software performance and reduced friction between domains,” said Adam Gruber, CTO of Applied Insight. “Cross-domain capabilities are typically associated with traditional IT systems. With our combined cloud-based capabilities and analytic expertise, we look forward to opening up a new realm of cloud-based end-to-end, low-to-high information workflows and insights.”
