Amit Yoran named RSA president; Art Coviello remains executive chairman

RSA, The Security Division of EMC, announced on Oct. 28 the promotion of Amit Yoran to be President. As RSA’s Senior Vice President of Products, Yoran has been a driving force behind RSA’s Intelligence Driven Security strategy and aligning RSA’s product portfolio to meet the new and emerging security challenges facing enterprises today.

In his new role, Yoran will take responsibility for delivering a unified customer experience across products, marketing, sales and services.

Art Coviello remains RSA’s executive chairman, and will work with Yoran to continue driving RSA’s strategic direction.

With more than 20 years of cyber security expertise, Yoran is one of the industry’s foremost authorities on the evolution of the security landscape and how enterprises can successfully defend themselves against advanced threats. Prior to RSA, Yoran founded and served as the CEO of NetWitness, which was acquired by RSA in 2011. He was also CEO of Riptech, which was acquired by Symantec in 2002, where he served as Vice President of Worldwide Managed Security Services.

Yoran previously served as the founding director of the US Computer Emergency Response Team and as a founding member of the US Department of Defense’s CERT program.
