HGH Infrared Systems presents new 360° sensor for critical infrastructure surveillance

HGH Infrared Systems, a Paris, France-based provider of 360-degree thermal infrared imaging systems, recently debuted their newest solution for wide area surveillance, the compact and powerful Spynel-M.

The Spynel-M is the latest addition to the award-winning Spynel series from HGH that have been deployed and proven since early 2007 and benefits from HGH’s 15-years of experience in major security projects.

Spynel-M is a high-resolution panoramic thermal camera, acting as an infrared radar. The system continuously captures 360° infrared images every two seconds, providing real-time security against conventional and asymmetric threats including: UAVs, RHIBs, crawling men, etc.

This sensor is able to perform 24/7 surveillance over a 1.5 km-diameter area and can replace up to 16 traditional infrared cameras, according to the company.Weighing only 4 lbs, the system is easily transportable in a backpack and can quickly be deployed on a light mast or fixed atop a building for superior wide area surveillance.

The system is a cost-effective, maintenance free solution for surveillance of critical infrastructures; prisons, water treatment facilities, solar and wind farms, and electric grids) as well as airports, ports, event security, and Special Forces operators.
