Philip Nolan named Chief Executive Officer of Camber Corporation
Camber Corporation, a professional services organization that provides solutions in systems engineering, intelligence, cyber security, information technology, unmanned systems, modeling and simulation, training and threat mitigation, announced on February 25 that Mr. Philip Nolan has been named Chief Executive Officer of the company. He will succeed Camber’s co-founder Walter Batson, who will continue to serve the Huntsville, AL-based company as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Nolan will assume his new role effective immediately after having served on Camber’s Board over the past three years.
“Phil Nolan is the ideal person to lead the company into the next phase of growth for the company,” said Bert Notini, Managing Director of New Mountain Capital, Camber’s private equity ownership group and a member of the company’s Board of Directors. “Camber will benefit from Phil’s wealth of experience, strong leadership qualities, and demonstrated ability to grow the business in a dynamic market.”
Mr. Nolan is the former Chairman and CEO of Stanley, Inc. During his tenure he successfully executed and integrated numerous acquisitions and led the company through a successful Initial Public Offering on the New York Stock Exchange. Under his leadership, Stanley grew from a 20-person operation to a company of 5,000 employees and almost $1 billion in revenue.
Mr. Batson co-founded Camber Corporation in April 1990 and led its growth over the past 25 years. He guided the company from a three person operation into a broad-based organization, supporting customers around the world, specializing in information technology, decision support systems, training, engineering and simulation.
“Over the nearly 25 years since he co-founded the company, Walter has been the heart and soul of Camber,” said Mr. Notini. “Although he will not be involved in the company’s day-to-day operations, his role as the Chairman of the Board keeps him near Camber’s helm as we continue to map out the company’s strategic direction.”
