On July 10, McQ Inc. announced that it has been awarded a production contract by NewTech Solutions to deliver advanced battlefield sensor kits supporting the United States Marine Corps (USMC) in critical ground operations. This is the second production order received by McQ over the last year for USMC battlefield sensor systems.
McQ products, including McQ RANGER and McQ Image Processing Nodes, were selected by the USMC following a two-year competitive assessment across multiple vendors.
The latest award includes fielding of both Close Kits – utilizing terrestrial communications – and Deep Kits, which operate via the Iridium satellite constellation for beyond-line-of-sight connectivity. Each system will feature McQ’s sensor and communications technologies: the McQ RANGER, the McQ IPN (Image Processing Node), and associated command-and-control software.
RANGER can detect, classify, and track mission-critical targets of interest – including personnel, vehicles, aircraft, and watercraft – making it a versatile solution for multi-domain awareness, according to the company. The included McQ IPN captures video and still imagery of targets detected by McQ’s sensor systems, enabling operators to visually confirm threats in real time and further enhance decision-making in tactical environments.
