DIA announces new deputy director
On October 10, DIA Director Lt. Gen. Robert Ashley, Jr. announced Suzanne White as the agency’s next deputy director. She will commence her duties as DIA’s second-ranking officer October 15. White has served as DIA’s chief of staff since August 2014.
White relieves Melissa Drisko, who is retiring after 37 years of federal service. Drisko joined DIA in 2007 and served as vice deputy director for collection management/deputy defense collection manager; chief of staff; director for science and technology; and lead for Rank-in-Person Implementation before assuming duties as DIA’s deputy director in August 2016.
“I want to thank Melissa for the tremendous job she has done for DIA in all of her leadership roles, specifically as our deputy director,” said Ashley. “She has had an incredible career and the impact of her work as a U.S. Naval officer and DIA officer will carry on to future generations who serve our nation.”
Johnny Sawyer will replace White as chief of staff, DIA’s third ranking officer. He currently serves as deputy director for analysis.
