DOD selects Engility for CBRNE contract
Engility Holdings, Inc. of Chantilly, VA announced on December 20 that it has secured a position on the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense Joint Enterprise Research Development Acquisition and Procurement Omnibus contract. The $8 billion multi-award Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity vehicle allows the DOD to obtain research, design, and development services related to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high yield explosives defense systems and equipment. The JPEO-CBD leads, manages and directs CBRNE defense systems from development through deployment and sustainment.
“For decades, the DOD has relied on Engility for high-end CBRNE expertise, and this contract is a great opportunity to expand our relationship and deliver the latest capabilities,” said Scott Whatmough, senior vice president, Defense and Security Group at Engility. “Through these contract task orders, we’ll couple our systems engineering expertise with a manufacturing capability to produce unique solutions to help solve the government’s most difficult CBRNE challenges.”
Engility is currently serving this customer on other contracts including the Joint Enterprise Omnibus Professional Engineering and Technical Support (JE-OPETS) and Joint Enterprise Contracted Logistics and Service Support (JE-CLaSS). With a 10-year base and a 5-year option, this new award will include some recompete work as well as new opportunities.
