Army posts RFP for SSES NexGen on-ramp
On August 17, the U.S. Army posted the solicitation for the Software Engineering Center Software and Systems Engineering Services Next Generation (SSES NexGen) On-Ramp (Solicitation Number: W56JSR17R0002_DRAFT). Proposals are due at 8:00 a.m. Eastern on September 18.
The Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) is issuing this Solicitation for the On Ramp in the Small Business restricted suites on the SSES NexGen multiple award contract to provide full life cycle support to SEC projects.
The Software Engineering Center’s (SEC) mission is to provide life cycle software solutions and services that enable Warfighter superiority and information dominance across the Enterprise. SEC performs this mission through assistance provided by contractors, which augment SEC in achieving its mission requirements. Accordingly, the services to be acquired under the proposed On Ramp are necessary in order for the SEC to perform its life cycle software engineering and support mission and to assist in achieving SEC’s vision of being recognized as the Center of Excellence for providing software solutions and services within the Army Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) community, across the Department of Defense, and potentially civilian agencies. This acquisition is required to provide software and systems engineering, and technical services to enable the SEC to continue to provide essential support for assigned C4ISR Systems (weapon, logistic and business systems), associated programming support environments, and other software technology initiatives, which improve the Army’s ability to provide quality software solutions within a system of systems environment for Warfighters operating in the Battlespace, while maintaining the highest levels of interoperability and maintainability for the way forward.
