SAIC awarded contract to support the Joint Staff J6 Directorate’s C4 and cyber program
Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center awarded Science Applications International Corp. an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract to support the Joint Staff J6 Directorate’s Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (C4) and Cyber Program, SAIC announced November 30. The multiple-award contract has a five-year period of performance, and a total contract value of approximately $156 million. McLean, VA-based SAIC is one of five awardees. Work will be performed in Norfolk, VA; Suffolk, VA; Arlington, VA; Eglin Air Force Base, FL; and contractor facilities.
“We are proud to provide the Joint Staff J6 Directorate with critical C4 and cyber support services needed for them to complete their mission and make quicker decisions,” said Linda Messano, SAIC senior vice president and general manager of the Department of Defense Agencies and Commands Customer Group.
The Joint Staff Chiefs of Staff is comprised of the Chairman, the Vice Chairman, the Chief of Staff of the Army, the Chief of Naval Operations, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, the Commandant of the Marine Corps and the Chief of the National Guard Bureau.
The Joint Staff J6 promulgates guidance and provides functional expertise to the Chairman to shape the joint information environment. The mission of the Joint Staff J6 is to serve the Chairman and develop C4/Cyber capability requirements to deliver a sustained information advantage, enable decision and action at the speed of the problem, and ensure the Warfighter receives jointly integrated and effective capabilities necessary to conduct operations.
Under the contract, SAIC will provide analytical engineering, program management, and technical support to the Joint Staff Deputy Directorate’s Cyber/C4 Program.
