Suzanne Wilson-Houck named INSA’s first COO
Suzanne Wilson-Houck has been named chief operating officer of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA), the Arlington, VA-based public-private nonprofit organization announced May 13.
Wilson-Houck had served as INSA’s vice president of business development since 2012, with INSA corporate membership surpassing 160 organizations in that time. In her new role, Wilson-Houck will continue to oversee marketing and business development efforts, as well as take a greater role in the strategic direction and planning of the organization.
The INSA Board of Directors approved establishment of the COO position and Wilson-Houck’s appointment on Friday, May 6.
INSA Chairman Letitia Long said, “Suzanne has been integral to INSA’s recent success and continued growth. Thanks to her leadership, business acumen, and commitment to membership service, INSA’s financial health and brand have never been stronger. Suzanne is most deserving of this promotion and I look forward to the many contributions she will make in her enhanced role.”
INSA President Chuck Alsup added, “Suzanne has demonstrated extraordinary dedication to INSA’s mission of fostering public-private partnership as well as to our members. She is precisely the right person to assume this new role. INSA is very fortunate to have her professionalism and leadership in planning and guiding its future.”
Prior to INSA, Wilson-Houck was vice president of marketing for Ripple Communications, supporting business developments efforts on behalf of Ripple and its clients, which included INSA. She also has served as director of business development for Altron, Inc., a woman-owned government contractor in the IT space, and as marketing and business development manager for a regional airport in Virginia. Wilson-Houck began her career on Capitol Hill as Whip Assistant to U.S. Congressman Newt Gingrich.
A native of Roswell, GA, Wilson-Houck received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Auburn University.
