On October 23, Apogee Engineering LLC announced the promotion of Josh Reid to vice president of technology. Reid will lead Apogee’s enterprise technology strategy, cybersecurity compliance and adoption of artificial intelligence, strengthen business operations, and advance technology capabilities that support customers’ evolving mission needs.
“Josh helped build the secure technology foundation behind Apogee’s growth and is shaping how we use AI to improve our business,” said Frank Varga, president and CEO of Apogee. “Our customers need to convert data into impactful and faster decision-making with confidence. Josh’s leadership brings together executable innovation in a secure environment with an in-depth understanding of how technology is employed to serve the mission.”
A longtime technology leader at Apogee, Reid has guided critical initiatives to modernize the company’s infrastructure and strengthen its security posture. He led Apogee’s implementation of secure cloud architectures and its Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 program, positioning Apogee among the first defense contractors to achieve certification. Additionally, his leadership contributed to the company’s achievement of a Commendable security rating from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency in 2026.
Reid will oversee efforts to streamline business processes, improve how employees access and use information, and expand automation that allows teams to focus their expertise on higher-value work. His expanded role will also connect enterprise modernization with the growing data challenges facing defense and intelligence customers. Reid will work with Apogee’s mission leaders to advance capabilities that help customers securely ingest, integrate and analyze increasing volumes of complex information, supporting timely analysis and informed decisions.
“I’m grateful to Apogee’s leadership for their confidence, and even more to the team that has helped build what we have today. My focus hasn’t changed; making sure our employees and our customers have what they need to succeed and faster than they ask for it.” said Reid.
