Zscaler names Bob Joachim gov ops leader

On November 4, Zscaler announced that Bob Joachim has joined the company as senior director of U.S. government partnerships. With nearly two decades of federal service, Joachim brings a wealth of expertise in cybersecurity, budgeting, and government operations.

Most recently, he served on the House Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, where he led efforts to secure funding for critical programs within the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Before that, Joachim held leadership roles as Deputy Budget Director at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Acting Budget Director at U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Joachim’s deep experience in advancing cybersecurity initiatives and shaping policy will bolster the cybersecurity defenses of critical infrastructure with Zscaler’s leading cloud cybersecurity solutions.

“Bob’s exceptional background and expertise will be a true asset to our team. With his experience as DHS, and his longstanding partnership with Congress, he has been pivotal to the increased authority, funding, and responsibilities of CISA,” said Ryan Gillis, Zscaler senior vice president, global head of government partnerships. “He’s had a front-row seat in driving the growth of cybersecurity and oversight at federal agencies, and we’re confident his support will help us continue to lead and innovate to protect our nation’s cybersecurity posture.”

“I am excited to officially join Zscaler as the senior director of U.S. government partnerships. It’s an honor to collaborate with industry leaders like Ryan Gillis and Brendan Peter as we expand Zscaler’s presence in public policy and deepen our partnerships across government,” said Joachim. “I’m energized by the journey ahead and eager to contribute to Zscaler’s innovative mission of enabling secure digital transformation.”
