On January 12, TRSS announced that Dana Barnes has joined the company as its new president. This leadership transition marks a new chapter for TRSS as the company positions itself for future growth and exploration of new opportunities, according to the company.
Barnes brings over 20 years of leadership experience in federal and commercial technology markets, with a proven track record of driving growth, operational excellence, and mission-focused transformation. From his distinguished service as a Marine Corps officer to his leadership roles at companies such as Dataminr, Palo Alto Networks, Microsoft, and Forrester, Barnes has demonstrated an ability to lead teams and deliver results in complex and high-stakes environments. At Forrester, Barnes served as vice president of public sector, where he successfully drove revenue growth and led government sales strategy across U.S. and Canadian federal, state, local, and defense markets.
Steve Rubley, the outgoing CEO and President of TRSS, expressed his confidence in Barnes’ leadership and excitement for the company’s future. “Over the years, TRSS has grown into a trusted partner in supporting critical missions across law enforcement, financial services, and national security. Dana’s deep expertise and passion for impactful work make him the right leader to take TRSS into its next phase of growth and success,” he said.
Barnes shared his enthusiasm for joining TRSS and leading the company’s vital mission. He said, “TRSS’s results speak for themselves. There have been lives saved, trafficking rings dismantled, communities protected, and meaningful change delivered every day. I am thrilled to join a team that is so committed to delivering real-world results. TRSS is uniquely positioned to expand its reach and continue driving innovation, and I look forward to building on the momentum Steve and his team have created.”
Rubley retired at the end of 2025 but will remain involved as an advisor during the transition to support Barnes and ensure continuity as the company enters its next chapter.
