Susan Gordon to be nominated as principal deputy director of national intelligence
On June 28, Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats issued a statement on the president’s intent to nominate Susan Gordon as principal deputy director of national intelligence:
I am very pleased that President Trump announced today his intent to nominate Susan Gordon to be the Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence (PDDNI). Sue currently serves as the Deputy Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), and she will bring a wealth of experience in the Intelligence Community and an exceptional record of leadership and innovation to the job.
Prior to her appointment as Deputy Director of NGA in 2015, Sue served for more than 25 years as a career officer at the CIA. She ascended to senior leadership roles across the CIA, including as the Director of the Information Operations Center and the CIA Director’s senior advisor on cyber. With this background, she will be well-positioned to help lead intelligence integration and find innovative approaches to solve challenges as PDDNI.
I look forward to Sue joining our leadership team at ODNI.
Daniel R. Coats, Director of National Intelligence
