SPAWAR posts new CANES RFI

On October 4, the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command posted a request for information for Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES). Responses are due no later than 15 November 2018, 10:00 PDT.

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) in support of the Program Executive Office Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (PEO C4I) and Space Systems, Program Manager, Warfare (PMW) 160 Tactical Networks, is releasing a Request for Information (RFI) for Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES). PMW 160 seeks to identify current and emerging technologies and/or projections of technology-enabled concepts that could provide significant value to the CANES program.

CANES is the Navy’s only Program of Record (POR) to consolidate existing and standalone 40  afloat Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and 41  Reconnaissance (C4ISR) networks and provide the necessary infrastructure for applications, 42  systems and services to operate in the tactical domain. CANES is the programmatic, technical, 43  and infrastructure consolidation of existing, separately managed afloat networks including 44  Integrated Shipboard Network System (ISNS), Combined Enterprise Regional Information 45  Exchange System – Maritime (CENTRIXS-M), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) 46  Networks and Submarine Local Area Network (SubLAN).
