Shift5 wins Army NGC2 contract

On October 14, Shift5, an Operational Intelligence platform for America’s defense and transportation systems, announced its selection by the U.S. Army to support the Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) initiative.

Shift5 joined the effort in February through Anduril Industries, integrating its platform with Lattice and supporting live demonstrations during the Army’s Ivy Sting and Project Convergence exercises.

Shift5’s platform collects and translates operational data from military weapon systems, regardless of asset type or protocol, and delivers it two ways: mission-critical alerts to Soldiers, and continuous data streams to situational awareness and logistics applications. This enables decision-makers at the tactical edge and in command posts to simultaneously access readiness insights across fleets and theaters.

“NGC2 represents the future of how we build resilience, readiness, and operational advantage into our warfighting systems,” said Toby Magsig, CEO of Shift5. “By delivering near real-time visibility into every platform, the Army can make faster, more informed sustainment decisions at enterprise scale.”

“Shift5 unlocks the data trapped inside these systems and turns it into an operational advantage, powering the software, analytics, and AI applications that will define the future of warfare. By bringing AI to the edge and putting actionable information in the hands of commanders and maintainers, NGC2 will help the Army move faster, anticipate problems before they become mission failures, and keep its forces ready for the fight,” Magsig added.
