SAIC’s REVA assessed awardable by Tradewinds

On May 28, Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) has achieved “Awardable” status for its Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) AI solution through the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office’s (CDAO) Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace.

The Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace is the premier offering of Tradewinds, the Department of Defense’s (DoD’s) suite of tools and services designed to accelerate the procurement and adoption of AI, Machine Learning (ML), data, and analytics capabilities.

Using Generative AI, SAIC’s innovative RAG-Enabled Virtual Assistant – REVA – increases efficiency by instantly locating information across multiple internal knowledge systems. It finds, organizes, and verifies the most accurate and up-to-date information from internal reliable sources. Leveraging SAIC’s software-agnostic framework, REVA delivers information faster, less intrusively, and often without the need for additional training or software licenses.

“No one joins the military to conduct tedious internal data collection, so REVA frees up our warfighters to focus on high-impact missions,” said former Air Force fighter pilot Vincent DiFronzo, SAIC’s executive vice president of Air Force and Combatant Commands Business Group. “DoD military and civilians can relate to the frustration of manual, time-consuming searches to retrieve key information and documents across multiple enterprise data sources. REVA enables an easy interface and instant, secure retrieval of relevant information. This empowers our military to accelerate and improve decision-making.”

REVA supports the government’s emphasis on auditability by adding information traceability. Operational at Technology Readiness Level 9 (TRL 9), REVA can help federal departments achieve significant operational efficiency, knowledge accessibility and sharing, and compliance by establishing a cost-effective repeatable process for highly manual and frequent information searches.

“Aligned with key directives like DoD’s Software Acquisition Pathway to accelerate AI use by the government, REVA achieving this Tradewinds milestone is yet another sign of how SAIC leverages AI and the best commercial technology to increase warfighter efficiency,” said DiFronzo. “REVA can deliver valuable time savings on internal information retrieval not only for the DoD, but for all federal departments.”
