ONI seeks cloud training platform

On August 6, the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) issued a request for quotations (RFQ) for a cloud training platform. Offers are due by 1:00 p.m. Eastern on August 12.

This is a non-personnel services contract to provide a series of self-paced, web training pertaining to cloud design, adoption, development, and implementation for ONI mission owners. Contract services shall be accountable solely to the Contractor who, in turn is responsible to the Government.

The contractor shall provide a cloud-training platform to train, equip and educate the ONI workforce in order to support cloud adoption and usage on and across various Cloud environments through web-based training, and how-to guides while providing hands on experience with different cloud environments. The contractor shall perform to the standards in this contract.

This requirement is to support the rapid adoption and use of cloud-based computing services to enable the collection, analysis, and distribution of critical intelligence data in a timely manner in support ONI missions. In compliance with the ONI directive for “Cloud First” as stated in the Naval Intelligence (NAVINTEL) Cloud Strategy 2020-2025, ONI is establishing a “Cloud-Ready” workforce, which will need to be technically proficient in order to design, configure and operationalize current and future intelligence services in the cloud.

With moving to a multi cloud environment, it has become critical to have a “Cloud Ready” ONI workforce that is informed, aware and capable of designing, developing, deploying and managing NAVINTEL Mission Services in multiple cloud. The Cloud Platform / Training Environment would need to equip the future “Cloud Ready” ONI workforce.

The objectives for this training effort are to develop a diverse team of high performing personnel to support ONI mission owners in adopting and migrating services and capabilities to a cloud environment. The cloud-training platform The cloud training platform shall provide web-based cloud training on AWS, Google, Microsoft and others as well as provide step by guides to assist the ONI workforce in becoming familiar with various Cloud environments through web training and how to guides. In addition, it will provide access to various cloud environment such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google, etc. in order to transform the ONI Cloud Ready Workforce.
