NSA’s Information Assurance Directorate to Host Cyber Security Awareness Day
NSA‘s Information Assurance Directorate (IAD) will host Cyber Security Awareness Day at the National Cryptologic Museum on Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in honor of National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
The event will be free and open to the public for people of all ages and will feature presentations, demonstrations and an opportunity to meet NSA cyber security experts.
The highlight of the day will be the museum’s new Gallery 3, which features the many fronts on which the information assurance mission has strengthened the protection of U.S. information systems from the early 21st century to the present day.
Museum visitors will see a biometrics demonstration, the evolution of secure voice telephone communications with SIGSALY, and how measurements of fingerprints are made and used to verify identity. Visitors will learn about the agency’s information assurance mission from NSA subject matter experts. The team will also offer tips to the visitors, including providing simple best practices people can take to ensure their connected activities are safe and secure.
