NGIC posts ERADS radar solicitation
On July 29 the U.S. Army National Ground Intelligence Center posted a solicitation notice for ERADS radars (Solicitation Number: W911W5-16-R-0010).
The US Army National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) Signatures Division (STS-ST) has the mission to collect, process, evaluate, review, recommend for validation and distribute signature intelligence of assigned foreign military systems in the areas of active/passive infrared, radar, micro-wave, millimeter-wave, seismic, acoustic, magnetic and spectral; and to otherwise support DOD sensor and weapons programs. The custom submillimeter wave systems and technologies applied and utilized in the NGIC compact radar ranges provide a unique and inexpensive compact range capability for acquiring, from precise physical scaled models of threat targets, using the principles of electrodynamic similitude, equivalent full scale multiple band radar signatures.
The purpose of this proposed Contact is to provide the NGIC Expert Radar Signature Solutions (ERADS) Program, and other Department of Defense (DOD) elements, support in multiple technical areas across several disciplines required to meet government radar signature requirements utilizing THz/SMM Wave active radars in custom designed compact ranges from detailed scaled threat targets.
