The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) has announced its intention to award a sole source contract to Google Inc., of Mountainview, CA, to provide near-worldwide geospatial feature map content.
“An agency priority is to maintain a comprehensive, worldwide, ‘best-in-class’ Map of the World warehouse that is current and ready to support standard and/or specialized products,” explains an NGA special notice published on March 26.
The agency indicated it plans to award a sole-source, firm fixed-price award to Google, but that it was nonetheless willing to hear from other interested parties by April 4 about their capabilities.
Further information about this planned award is available from Ryan Roe at 314-676-1857 or ryan.w.roe@nga.mil.
