NGA posts focal plane array RFI

On September 25, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency posted a request for information on focal plane arrays. Responses are due no later than 2:00 p.m. Eastern on October 19.

The National Geospatial-lntelligence Agency (NGA) is seeking information on focal plane arrays capable of detecting emissions across multiple optical bands.

Currently, focal plane arrays are capable of receiving and processing photon energy across the visible, near IR, LWIR, and UV spectrum.  However, a comprehensive catalog of such arrays and their performance does not exist.  NGA is requesting information about focal plane arrays currently available on the market, as well as emerging FPA technology for performance in other frequency ranges.

Approaches to performance across wavelengths include single chip multi-frequency FPAs, as well as ensemble, hybrid, or stitched multi-frequency detection schemes. NGA is interested in any approach that will enable collection and processing of photons in a specified wavelength range.  Approaches that offer improvements to state of the art time efficiencies are of particular interest.
