NextGen secures ASTEROID task order
On August 3, Morgantown, WV-based NextGen Federal Systems announced the award of the Analytics Solution to Establish Real-Time Operational Information Dominance (ASTEROID) Task Order under the General Services Administration (GSA) One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services (OASIS) Small Business Pool 3 Contract.
With a value of $170 million, this task order represents a major milestone for NextGen and its dedication to supporting the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM); Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center; Engineering and Systems Integration (ESI) Directorate. “We are honored to have been selected for the ASTEROID task order, and excited to collaborate with ESI and its mission partners,” said Jay Reddy, NextGen CEO.
ASTEROID aims to advance the Army’s analytic capabilities in C5ISR domains, encompassing all source; collection management; cyber intelligence; electronic warfare; signals intelligence; processing, exploitation, and dissemination; weather; and data analytics. This effort will facilitate the research and development (R&D) of system and system-of-system engineering design, allowing for the implementation of “quick reaction” capabilities to address urgent needs and support operational requirements of end-users. R&D services under this program include software engineering activities, prototype development, post-production engineering support, technology modernization and insertion, and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
Along with a team of 14 accomplished industry partners, the company is well-positioned to deliver R&D and prototyping services and advanced capabilities across C5ISR domains for the U.S. Army. “This award demonstrates our team’s ability to rapidly deliver cutting-edge prototypes in EW, Cyber, and AI/ML to warfighters engaged in multi-domain operations,” said JP Lapps, NextGen senior vice president.
Dave Bissett, vice president and group manager, added, “This award is a culmination of the hard work and diligence of our staff and teammates. I couldn’t be prouder. We look forward to embarking on this effort with ESI and our industry partners, applying that same hard work and diligence to support our nation’s defense capabilities and deliver technological advancements in the military sector.”
