MDA to provide communication subsystem

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. of Vancouver announced on November 21 that it has signed a contract valued in excess of CA$7 million with Airbus Defence and Space to provide a communication antenna subsystem to be integrated into the Inmarsat-6 mobile communication satellites. MDA announced an earlier contract for similar work in March 2016.

MDA’s antenna solutions cover a wide range of requirements to address single and multi-satellite programs in commercial, space, military and airborne markets. MDA’s proven and patented design allows antenna movement in very fine increments which increases the flexibility and performance of the satellite, the company said.
