LGS Innovations names Douglas Manya as new general counsel

LGS 112LGS Innovations of Herndon, VA announced March 9 that it has appointed Douglas Manya as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, effective February 15. In this role, Manya will oversee the legal, corporate governance, and contractual activities of LGS and its compliance with government procurement regulations and LGS ethical standards.

“We’re delighted to welcome Doug to our management team,” said Kevin Kelly, LGS Chief Executive Officer. “His extensive experience in the government contracting arena, mergers and acquisitions, and our customer base is ideally suited to support our continuing and rapid growth as a provider of advanced communications, networking and cybersecurity solutions.”

Before joining LGS, Manya served as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and Secretary at Booz Allen Hamilton in McLean, Virginia, where he advised executive management and the company’s board of directors on a broad range of corporate governance and operational matters. As a Deputy Counsel, Manya led attorneys and other professionals in the areas of government contracts, ethics and compliance, governance, securities and mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to Booz Allen, Manya was in private practice with the law firm of Howrey & Simon in Washington, D.C. and served as a law clerk to the Hon. Claude M. Hilton, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia, Alexandria Division. Manya received a bachelor’s degreein international relations from the College of William and Mary and a master’s degree in international affairs from American University. He graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law, and is admitted to the bar in Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Michael Garson, the previous LGS General Counsel and Secretary, will continue in his role as the company’s Chief Administrative Officer.
