Leidos appoints retired Maj. Gen. Michael Boera as VP, Air Force strategic account executive
Leidos of Reston, VA announced on July 3 that retired Maj. Gen. Michael Boera has joined the company as the vice president, Air Force strategic account executive. In his new role, General Boera will be responsible for strengthening and growing Leidos’ trusted relationships with the United States Air Force (USAF).
General Boera comes to the company with over 20 years of expertise in planning and operations. He was the director of Air Force programs, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Plans and Programs for the USAF. He was responsible for the development and integration of the Air Force program across the Future Years Defense Plan and for managing the Air Force corporate structure process. Following his service in the Air Force, he served as the director of business development at Raytheon for a mission area within the company’s Intelligence, Information and Services business. General Boera is a rated command pilot with over 5,600 flying hours and over 200 combat missions.
“Mike understands the Air Force and he understands how emerging technologies enable their mission,” said Gerry Fasano, Leidos executive vice president and chief of business development and strategy. “His experience at the highest levels of the Air Force will strengthen our valued relationship with that customer.”
General Boera graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1981 earning a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering. He also holds a master’s degree in management and supervision from Central Michigan University (1985) and a master’s degree in strategic studies from Air War College, Maxwell AFB, AL (2000), as well as several other degrees and decorations.
