On April 7, L3Harris Technologies and Kuiper Government Solutions LLC (KGS), a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc. announced that they have partnered to deliver integrated, resilient Satellite Communications (SATCOM) solutions to governments and militaries worldwide.
The collaboration will focus on innovating and delivering hybrid SATCOM with high-speed and low-latency global connectivity. L3Harris will pair its trusted and resilient global tactical networks and comprehensive communication system technology with KGS’ global satellite network.
“The synergies of our new partnership will deliver out-of-the-box interoperability and specialized systems for military, public safety and commercial applications, providing customers more flexibility in their communication networks than ever before,” said Sam Mehta, president, communication systems, L3Harris. “This partnership is crucial for providing extended, enhanced capabilities not available today and reinforces our mutual commitment to deliver resilient, secure and trusted solutions to our customers.”
KGS is the government-focused division of Project Kuiper, the Amazon initiative to deliver fast, reliable and secure connectivity through a constellation of satellites in low-Earth orbit.
“We are pleased to be working with L3Harris,” said Rick Freeman, president, KGS. “Our collaboration in satellite communications and defense technology will provide customers with global communications capabilities, higher resiliency and improved security.”
