IARPA hosts ELQ Proposer’s Day

On June 27, the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) announced a Proposer’s Day for the Entangled Logical Qubits (ELQ) Program. The ELQ Proposer’s Day will take place on July 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern.

Registration: Participants must register by 07 July 2022 at 12:00 PM EDT. Same day registration will not be accepted. The link to register is: https://www.client-meeting.net/elq-proposers-day

Overview

Entangled Logical Qubits (ELQ) Proposer’s Day will introduce potential proposers to the program and provide information on technical requirements and program objectives. The ELQ Program aims to advance the state of the science in universal fault-tolerant quantum computing (UFTQC) by demonstrating high-fidelity entanglement between error-corrected logical qubits. Successful schemes culminating in entangled logical-qubit states incorporate cycles of quantum error correction and other required operations in a fault-tolerant manner.

In approximation of QC functioning, the logical qubits so engaged reside within the same platform and act as self-contained, modular resources, being capable of steady operation independent of the presence or absence of one another before and after entanglement. By its goals, ELQ will help establish the complex foundation of UFTQC and strengthen the research-and-development ties among the field’s various disciplines spanning physics, engineering, quantum information science, and computer science.
