GRVTY stands up advisory board

On July 22, GRVTY announced the formation of its advisory board. The company is honored to appoint Dr. Phil Root and Dave Sterling as its first named advisors.

Phil Root, Ph.D — Retired Army Lt. Col., MIT-trained aerospace engineer, and renowned research and development leader — joins GRVTY after serving as director of DARPA’s Strategic Technology Office, and previously as deputy director and acting director of DARPA’s Defense Sciences Office. He has led pioneering programs in AI infused autonomy, counter-UAS, tunneling technologies, the lunar economy, and ethical analysis of autonomous systems. Root’s operational background includes deployments in Afghanistan, support to the NASA Astronaut Office, and an Apache helicopter pilot tour in Germany and South Korea.

Dave Sterling — founder and CEO of Royce Geospatial Consultants (Royce Geo), a geospatial intelligence and data fusion leader — brings more than 20 years of experience and a track record of accelerating commercial and national security space data analytics through artificial intelligence and machine learning. A former National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) senior analyst and geospatial lead at KeyW (now Jacobs), Sterling propelled Royce Geo forward by winning major contracts with the NGA and Space Force.

“Phil and Dave are exactly the type of strategic partners GRVTY needs to scale our mission-critical capabilities,” said Katie Selbe, chief executive officer of GRVTY. “Their leadership and mission knowledge across the Defense and Intelligence Communities brings deep operational insight and technical vision that align perfectly with GRVTY’s purpose: to advance and accelerate national security to protect what we value most. I’m honored to welcome them as founding members of our advisory board.”
