On June 8, General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics, announced that it has expanded its technology partnership with Splunk, a Cisco company, through a new strategic collaboration agreement to deliver leading-edge cybersecurity solutions for the U.S. government.
Through this collaboration, GDIT will combine its decades of mission and technology integration expertise with Splunk’s advanced cybersecurity, data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. GDIT will integrate Splunk’s data platforms and offerings into its Digital Accelerators and Mission Solutions portfolio, enabling federal agencies to secure their critical infrastructure, protect devices and data, improve cyber resilience, and drive continuous compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements.
GDIT has already embedded Splunk’s capabilities on several programs across the government, including delivering a zero trust solution for 187 U.S. Air Force bases that supports more than one million users worldwide and providing cybersecurity services for the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) which serves more than 8.8 million residents.
“Federal agencies are facing cyber threats with greater velocity and sophistication than ever before,” said Ben Gianni, GDIT senior vice president and chief technology officer. “Our expanded partnership with Splunk will enable us to deliver differentiated, scalable solutions that harden our customers’ cyber defenses and empower them to execute their missions with confidence.”
“Data is the foundation of modern cybersecurity,” said Bill Rowan, vice president of sales for Splunk public sector. “Through our expanded partnership with GDIT, we are empowering government agencies to build a more resilient digital posture. From developing advanced zero trust architectures to improving situational awareness, we are ensuring that federal agencies have the robust, scalable tools required to protect their data and maintain systems in an increasingly complex environment.”
The strategic collaboration agreement builds on GDIT’s existing partnership with Splunk and is a key part of the company’s Vision, Acceleration and Innovation (VIA) strategy, which emphasizes deepening relationships with commercial technology companies to advance innovation for government agencies.
