On May 10, Aperio Global announced the appointment of Retired Colonel Elvert “El” Gardner as its vice president of space operations. Colonel Gardner joins Aperio Global after a distinguished career in both the United States Air Force and the U.S. Space Force, where he has been at the forefront of advancing the nation’s space strategy and dominance. His military service is marked by leadership responsibilities in critical roles, including director of space strategy and policy for the U.S. Space Force and other senior positions throughout the Department of Defense. His work has been integral in developing the U.S. Space Force Commercial Space Strategy and other institutional policies that shape the United States’ space capabilities.
In his new role, Colonel Gardner will focus on expanding Aperio Global’s influence in the space sector, driving innovation and strategic alignment with broader national security objectives. His vision includes integrating advanced space technologies into Aperio’s solutions portfolio and leading the development of next-generation space systems.
