DOE to stick with Systematic Management Services, Inc. to support its classified programs
The Department of Energy’s Counterintelligence Directorate intends to award a one-year contract extension to Systematic Management Services, Inc., of Germantown, MD, to continue providing support to a variety of classified investigations, counterterrorism efforts, cyber investigations, behavioral assessments and other DOE activities classified SECRET/NOFORN.
Systematic Management Services (SMS) currently provides 60 full-time personnel to this DOE directorate to provide functional and geographic counterintelligence expertise.
The DOE headquarters procurement office plans to award SMS a contract with a base period of six months plus two three-month option periods, according to a special notice released by the department on March 7.
“SMS offers essential specialized counterintelligence technical support to the IN counterintelligence program cross the DOE complex,” explains the department’s notice. “SMS supports the protection of vital national security information and technologies, representing intellectual property of incalculable value.”
Other vendors who believe they have comparable capabilities can submit their qualifications to Arness Harris, a DOE contracting officer, at Arness.Harris@hq.doe.gov by March 25.
