Chainguard assessed “Awardable” in P1 Marketplace

On August 21, Chainguard announced that it has achieved “Awardable” status through the Platform One (P1) Solutions Marketplace. The P1 Solutions Marketplace is a digital repository of post-competition, 5-minute long readily-awardable pitch videos, which address the government’s greatest requirements in hardware, software, and service solutions.

According to the company, Chainguard is changing the way organizations build with open-source software (OSS) by ensuring the components they use in their software supply chains are securely built from source and updated continuously. Chainguard Containers is a catalog of over 1,500 zero-CVE container images with broad customization capabilities and a reduced attack surface to improve supply chain integrity for containerized applications. As the fastest way to get a patch from source to artifact, Chainguard Containers is powered by Chainguard’s bootstrapped Linux distro, Chainguard OS, and include transparent provenance, enforcement of FIPS-validated cryptography, signed SBOMs and attestations, secure hardening, and continuous daily updates to eliminate vulnerabilities. Today, Chainguard is used by government organizations, Fortune 500 companies, and some of the world’s fastest-growing AI startups to mitigate risk in the software supply chain and enable engineering teams to build securely from the start.

“Earning an Awardable status on the P1 Marketplace underscores Chainguard’s commitment to securing the mission-critical software the Department of Defense relies on,” said Ken Melero, RVP of public sector, Chainguard. “We’re excited to help the DoD continue to modernize its software security practices with open-source software that’s built for speed, trust, and scale.”
