CDAO announces Advana Industry Day

The Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Digital & Artificial Intelligence Office’s (CDAO) announced on August 26 that the Advana program is hosting an industry day on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the Hyatt Regency Reston in Reston, VA. Registration closes September 13.

The industry day will serve as a collaborative event for the CDAO and its industry partners to engage in knowledge-sharing, explore potential partnerships, and shape future opportunities to contribute to Advana, the DoD’s largest big-data system and unified platform enabling over 100k DoD mission owners, analysts, and data scientists to simplify more than 3,000 business systems and conduct advanced analytics.

CDAO is transitioning Advana to a contracting model that will broaden access for potential vendors; while enabling the increasingly popular platform to meet more, varied user needs across the DoD.

In doing so, this industry day will:

  • Share the origin story of Advana, its mission space, and its relationship to CDAO’s Open Data and Applications Government-owned Interoperable Repositories (Open DAGIR) approach to scaling data, analytics, and artificial intelligence capabilities.
  • Provide insights on opportunities for traditional and nontraditional vendors to participate in ongoing Advana development activities, including fundamental knowledge to provide Advana architecture development and Advana application development.
  • Discuss initial ideas and solicit feedback on partner workflows, draft statements of work, solicitation criteria, the Open DAGIR construct, and the acquisition strategy for participating in Advana development, from design and development to testing and scaling.

 

The industry day will include in both plenary/educational sessions as well as focused breakout sessions, providing several opportunities for attendees to share their insights, experiences, and valuable feedback on the Advana program’s content/capability areas. Additionally, by fostering networking among solution providers, end-users, and other DoD stakeholders, this event aims to create a dynamic, interactive environment for knowledge-sharing and collaboration to develop timely, relevant software for decision advantage.
