Carahsoft Awarded US DoD BPA for Red Hat software and services

Carahsoft Technology Corp. announced on May 30 that the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has named Carahsoft as a facilitating partner for an enterprise-wide blanket purchasing agreement (BPA) through the U.S. military’s Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI). Under the agreement, Carahsoft will serve as a distributor for software and services from Red Hat, Inc., providing government customers and reseller partners with the world’s leading open source solutions.

The five-year BPA is open for ordering by the DoD and related agencies on a world-wide basis and provides Red Hat software, maintenance, support and training for DoD, Intelligence Communities and Coast Guard activities worldwide. The agreement is effective through April 1, 2023 and carries a ceiling amount of $125 million.

Carahsoft will support Red Hat’s blanket purchase agreement award by leveraging its partner enablement, sales, marketing and contract management capabilities. In addition to other activities, the company will provide regular training webcasts and on-site trainings covering contract terms, new software and updates, as well as a dedicated web resource for the contract and relevant information.

“We are pleased to have been awarded our third consecutive Red Hat ESI BPA,” said Natalie Gregory, vice president of open source solutions at Carahsoft, which has served as Red Hat’s master government aggregator and distributor for more 13 years. “The DoD continues to expand its implementation of Red Hat’s enterprise open source technologies which are secure, scalable and cost-effective. Red Hat’s solutions also prevent vendor lock-in, making them the perfect match to support the DoD’s and our reseller partners’ unique mission needs, use cases and changing deployments.”
