Brett Markham named NGA deputy director
On December 5, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency announced Brett Markham as the agency’s tenth deputy director, effective immediately.
“Mr. Markham has over 37 years of combined military and civilian leadership experience … 16 have been at NGA,” said NGA Director VADM Frank Whitworth.
Markham previously served as the agency’s chief of staff overseeing NGA’s executive support staff, administrative services, logistics, personnel security, human resources, employee training and development, corporate communications and congressional engagement.
Prior to that role, Markham held a number of positions within NGA to include serving as the west executive and dual-hatted as the deputy associate director of operations. In this capacity, he represented the director and deputy director at NGA’s campuses in St. Louis and assisted with the integration of all activities across NGA St. Louis.
