Balaji Yelamanchili named Dataminr president and COO

Dataminr has named Balaji Yelamanchili president and chief operating officer (COO). A seasoned technology and security executive, Yelamanchili brings a wealth of experience to Dataminr, including decades in leadership roles at the intersection of data, analytics, AI, and security with a strong track record of scaling organizations, leading go-to-market transformation, and building high-performing teams, the company said.

Yelamanchili joins Dataminr following its acquisition of ThreatConnect, a leading internal data intelligence management platform, where he previously served as CEO. Yelamanchili’s appointment follows a successful tenure by Brian Gumbel, who will transition into a strategic advisory role.

Earlier in his career, he was a senior vice president at Oracle, leading Oracle’s Data Analytics and Enterprise Performance Management products. He then served as executive vice president and general manager of Symantec’s Enterprise Security business. Prior to ThreatConnect, Yelamanchili  was a venture partner at Shasta Ventures and an operating executive at the private equity arm of Elliott Management.
