Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) to be led by Major General George Franz III

The chief of staff of the U.S. Army announced on April 17 that Maj. Gen. George Franz III, commander, Cyber National Mission Force, U.S. Cyber Command, Fort George G. Meade, Md., will become the next commanding general of the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM), at Fort Belvoir, VA.
Franz has previously served as chief, Joint Analysis and Control Element, J-2, International Security Assistance Force, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine at Orono, and masters degrees from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the Naval War College.
