Air Force posts VAULT RFI

On April 26, the U.S. Air Force posted a request for information (RFI) for Visible Accessible Understandable Linked Trusted (VAULT) Platform and Operations Support Services. Responses are due by 5:00 p.m. Eastern on May 15.

The DAF Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Office (SAF/CND) is conducting market intelligence to identify sources for a potential requirement for Visible Accessible Understandable Linked Trusted (VAULT) Platform and Operations Support Services in accordance with the attached Performance Work Statement.  The Government is still in the early acquisition planning stage and all activities at this time are considered market intelligence.

This requirement is derived from the SAF/CND mission directive mandating the CDAO and the broader Air Force community to utilize data as a strategic asset. The Air Force Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer’s primary role is to ensure that timely high-quality data is available to internal and external stakeholders in order to fulfill mission requirements. SAF/CND manages an enterprise cloud-hosted data-as-a-service architecture, containing cloud-native, open source, and commercial services supporting Air Force functional activities (e.g., finance, logistics, intelligence, etc.) and emphasizing data science capabilities.

The environment includes both test and operational environments, and provides cross-domain data transfers across classification boundaries. The environment also works within a larger DAF data fabric to support the federation of DAF data and services across approved DAF environments as well as reporting information as directed by the CDAO to other DoD and Government agencies.
